An explosion struck near a church this morning in the Nigerian city of Jos where hundreds have been killed in religious violence in the last few months.
It was not clear what caused the explosion in Jos, which has been at the centre of massacres and targeted killings between Christians and Muslims. Dozens of ethnic groups vie for control of fertile lands in the area.
Politics, jobs and land often spark violence that falls along religious lines and has left thousands dead in recent years.
Human Rights Watch estimates that 200 people have died since December.
